I'm currently reading an informational book on Jehovah's Witnesses. It is written by David A. Reed, a former JW. It's called Jehovah's Witnesses Answered Verse by Verse and points out verses the JWs use to justify their doctrine then provides biblical answers to them. It's got some great tips on witnessing to the witnesses!
In addition, I picked up a great novel at the library on Johann Gutenberg, inventor of the printing press: The Justification of Johann Gutenberg by Blake Morrison. So far, very interesting as it's written from the perspective of an aged Gutenberg recalling his past. Why have I chosen to read this one? I just wanted to know the real story on the man who made it possible for the written Word to be spread worldwide.
Here is a listing of books that I read last year:
The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett
Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne
Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers
First 3 Anne Books
First 3 Chronicles of Narnia (again)
I'm trying to catch up on books I never read as a child and some classics I've always wanted to read. My "to-read" list is long so slowly but surely I'm enjoying them!
